A little letter with plenty of literary charm, this Jane Austen paper keepsake is a thoughtful way to send words of your own. Fold a birthday wish, a heartfelt thank you or a romantic note inside for the recipient to discover as they unfold it. A lovely alternative to a traditional card for an Austen admirer, or a personal finishing touch to a bookish gift.
Each Keepsake is both a unique greetings card and a small work of art: a square, hand-folded parcel that opens layer by layer to reveal illustrations, details, and messages within. Write your message in the centre, fold and either keep for yourself or give to someone deserving.
This design:
Celebrating everything Jane Austen, this pocket Keepsake showcases four letters from her novels. From Willoughby, Lydia Bennet, Mr Darcy and Captain Wentworth.
Jane Austen frequently incorporated letters into her novels, using them as a powerful literary device. While she did write a fully epistolary novella in her youth—Lady Susan—she later rejected that format in favour of third-person narratives that include letters alongside direct narration. The rest of the design inside shows 8 miniatures of her books, the four published in her life time and four that were published after her death. The outer design folds into a Regency-style letter, decorated with an illustrated soft blue ribbon.
Contents:
Each pack comes with two paper keepsakes, a practice sheet and instructions. The paper sheets measure 16cm x 16cm (finished size approx. 5cm x 5cm). The designs are printed on traditional laid paper.
Envelopes are not included.
